Happy Friday and welcome back to Your Sparkly Wardrobe Project Week 4!
Last week in Your Sparkly Wardrobe, Mahin showed you the really cool costume mix & match technique. If you missed it, check it out here.
Now you can mix and match your costumes…but sometimes you need something to tie all pieces together.
What completes the nicely put-together look is … matching accessories. 😀
Matching accessories have the power to instantly create the professional costume look. Let’s complete your new costume sets with some DIY matching accessories. And don’t worry, I’ll share with you some no-sew options in case sewing is not your cup of tea. Let’s get started!

Create the Professional Look with 5 Easy DIY Matching Accessories!
DIY Accessory #1. Wristbands & Armbands
If your bedlah is missing matching accessories, try making armbands and wristbands with similar materials and design. They will look seamless and complete your new outfit. You can find my tutorial on these simple armbands here.
DIY Accessory #2. Gauntlets
Gauntlets look very elegant, and I love layering bracelets over it. Looks gorgeous! Make them match your favourite skirt or your bedlah, so the gauntlets compliment your costume well. See my tutorial on these easy DIY gauntlets here.
DIY Accessory #3. Shrug
If you want a bit more coverage, try this DIY shrug. You can make it match your skirt or you can find stretch mesh in similar colour to create a lighter looking shrug that still gives coverage. You can decorate the mesh shrug too! Here is my DIY shrug tutorial.
DIY Accessory #4. Wire arm cuff
If you’re not into sewing, we can make a wire accessory. These snake arm cuffs are very easy to make, and you can adjust how tight you want them very easily. See my tutorial here.
DIY Accessory #5. Chain belt
Another no-sew option! Take some chain, recycle your old earrings, and you’ve got a fancy chain belt you can wear over your practice outfit or new costume! And here’s my step-by-step tutorial.
Alrighty, hope you liked these DIY ideas, and if you try them, share your photo on Sparkly Belly’s Facebook group!
In the next episode of Your Sparkly Wardrobe Project, Mahin will show you how to make the most out of different styles of skirts through movements. I’m so excited about this!! Sign up for her newsletter here, so you won’t miss it! 😉
