6 Sparkly Holiday Belly Dance Costuming & Decoration DIY Projects
#1 DIY LED Isis Wings
It’s always super exciting when the lights go off during performance. That’s a signal that something fun is about to begin!
Why not amuse your audience with these DIY LED Isis Wings? You can make these wings from scratch (tutorial here) then add LED lights to them by following this tutorial.
They are pretty easy to make, and key is to find light weight LED lights – and now is a great time to go find them in stores!

#2 Light Up Yourself!
Here’s an easier DIY to dance in twinkling lights!
This tutorial will show you how to create a pouch to keep the battery pack in, so you can hide it in your costume and turn on the lights at the right time!
Check out the video so you can see what it looks like – it looks super cool and mystical with slow, gooey movements!

#3 DIY Belly Dancer Ornaments
Why not add belly dancers to your holiday decoration?
These ornaments are made of paper and paper doilies, and it’s really easy to make….and so pretty! You can get the template in the tutorial, so print it out and use the figures in the template to make your own!

#4 DIY Sparkly Banner Garland
Got a boring backdrop for the stage?
This DIY banner is super easy to make, and the best part is, you can use up sparkly scrap fabric!
You can decorate the banner with tassels, stringed beads, ornaments…. anything you may have in your stash!
And it’ll create a great sparkly backdrop for the stage or photo booth!

#5 DIY Sparkly Star Appliques
These appliques are made with wire, so you can shape them into whatever shape you want (like this)!
The star shape is really easy to make, and you can add string so you can hang them on a tree or on the wall. Then once holidays are over, you can add them to your costume! 😀

#6 DIY Beaded Appliques
You can also make some beaded appliques and hang them as ornaments. They’ll add colors and sparkles to your home or party decor!
You can make the above heart applique from scratch in this tutorial.
