One of the questions I get asked often is where I purchase my costume making supplies.
Recently a beads company called PandaHall reached out to me and sent me some of their products in exchange for my review video. So here’s my honest review.

PandaHall Review
The company is based in China, and I was first worried about how long the shipping is going to take, But to my surprise, my package arrived in 9 days after PandaHall sent me a confirmation email. So it’s really not bad! Everything was packaged nicely.
I checked their shipping options, and they have a whole bunch of options for shipping overseas. So you can choose which option suits you best.
Okay, here’s what they sent to me.
These are transparent glass beads in mixed colours. These are 4mm x 3mm, and very cute. What I like the most about these is that the colours are very vibrant. These are faceted, so they reflect light in all different directions, perfect for dance costume making.

Next, these are transparent acrylic beads in clear colour. They are about the same size as the glass ones. These are faceted as well like the glass ones, but because they are acrylic, not glass, they do look more plastic and cheap if you look close up. But I don’t feel they are cheaply made, since the beads and the holes come in consistent sizes and they shine very well too.

These are bicone beads made with Austrian crystal. Austrian crystal is famous for its shine, and these beads are very sparkly. I love this deep green colour and the gorgeous shine. Just very pretty.

And these are another Austrian crystal product. These are heart shaped charms in light rose colour, and when I checked their website last, they didn’t have these in stock any more, but they do have similar charms available. These are also very sparkly and so cute.
Now these ones, I really wanted to see and asked them specifically to include them in my package. These are so fun looking, and covered with resin rhinestones in AB finish. Resin rhinestones are shinier and clearer than acrylic ones, and still inexpensive. These are like small disco balls, and I think it would be cute to have these chunky balls on a dance costume.

Sequins. This whole package is sold for $1.05 USD, and these come in bright colours. What I love about them is that they included interesting colours like copper, light rose and turquoise. I did find several broken sequins and sequins with small peeled paint. But this 50g package contains a lot so I personally don’t mind them much.

These are brass rhinestone spacer beads. Each one has clear rhinestones around it. I think this shade of brass can look a bit cheap, but these are decent quality, and it would be a fun addition to beaded drapes with other chunky beads.

These tiny sparkles are actually resin rhinestones and they are pointed back. This package came in mixed colours, and I just love how shiny and sparkly they are. For these, you’d need jewelry settings or frames to glue them onto, but these are tiny enough that I might use them on my nails.

And finally, I like making things with chain and I like this gold chain with a lobster clasp. A luxurious shade of gold and sturdy chain, perfect for making necklaces or chain body jewelries.

I think PandaHall products are very economical in general. Everything I showed here are currently priced under 2 USD per package. The most expensive one here was the resin rhinestone balls and they are priced at $1.51 USD for 5.
Other ones like the glass beads are $0.53 USD per package of 200 pieces.
But there is the overseas shipping fee to consider, and the heavier your package is, the more you pay, so I’m going to have to be careful about that. But the quality and sizes of their products are pretty consistent, and I can’t wait to make something using these.
So next week, I’ll do an applique tutorial using some of these beads and make barefoot sandals. 😀 If you want to be updated when the applique tutorial comes out, sign up for Sparkly Belly’s newsletter.
